Dealing with adult acne has been an ongoing challenge for me since the pandemic began. My skin would fluctuate between being completely fine and suddenly breaking out with inflammation and scarring.

Looking back, I realized that my biggest mistake was jumping on every skincare trend instead of building a routine that truly suited my skin's needs.

So, I decided to go back to the basics. I removed anything unnecessary and focused only on gentle, effective essentials. And I'm so glad to say that my skin has been consistently calm and clear for over four months now!

Here's what's been working in my skincare routine:

🌙 Night Routine

1. Pixi Glow Tonic

A true game-changer! The glycolic acid in this toner gently exfoliates any leftover dead skin and boosts absorption for the next steps. I also noticed it smooths out rough patches like knees and elbows. If you're new to acids, try it every other day first.

2. Laneige Blue Hyaluronic Gel

This lightweight gel moisturiser has been amazing for my acne-prone skin. It hydrates without making my skin greasy. Remember: even oily or acne-prone skin needs proper moisture to stay balanced.

3. Melano CC Vitamin C Serum

I use this as a spot treatment to fade post-acne scars. The packaging keeps the vitamin C stable and potent, which makes it super effective over time.

☀️ Day Routine

1. Laneige Blue Hyaluronic Gel (Again!)

It works so well for me, I also use it in the morning for consistent hydration.

2. Anua Peach 70 Niacin Serum

Niacinamide has really helped with oil control and minimizing pores. This serum also lightens spots and sinks into the skin effortlessly, which is perfect for acne-prone skin.

3. Madagascar Centella Sunscreen

I've stopped using foundation and now rely on this tinted SPF for light coverage and sun protection. It gives me a more even skin tone while still letting my skin breathe.

It took some trial and error, but simplifying my routine and using products tailored to my skin made all the difference. If you've been struggling too, start simple and build from there—your skin will thank you! 💛
