Hey Lykkers 💬
Can we talk about backpacks for a sec?
I used to avoid them like the plague because I didn't want to look like I was heading to high school 🧃📚. But once I started commuting more and carrying my laptop everywhere, I realized: backpacks are unbeatable for comfort. The real trick?
Knowing how to style them so you don't look like you're late for algebra class 😅 So here's how I personally style mine and still feel put-together, grown, and cool!
First things first—ditch anything with cartoon prints or too many zippers and buckles.
I now stick to structured backpacks in neutral colors like black, beige, or olive green. Something with clean lines, no logos, and subtle hardware instantly looks more adult and polished.
I used to throw on a hoodie and backpack and wonder why I looked 15 🙈
Now I go for tailored jackets, oversized blazers, or long coats. These instantly balance out the backpack and make the whole outfit feel intentional—not just something I wore to run errands.
Jeans are fine, but the magic happens when I wear high-waisted trousers, wide-leg pants, or midi skirts.
These pieces automatically elevate the outfit, and the backpack blends in naturally instead of clashing with a too-casual look.
A pair of sneakers can work, but I like to pair my backpack with leather loafers, ankle boots, or white sneakers that are super clean and minimal.
The moment your shoes look grown-up, the rest of your outfit follows.
Throw on gold hoop earrings, a watch, or even a pair of chic sunnies, and suddenly your backpack looks like a style choice, not a school supply.
I sometimes even add a silk scarf tied to the backpack handle for a little touch of flair!
Switching from canvas to leather or smooth nylon made a huge difference in how my backpack looks.
My current fave is a black pebbled leather one—it fits everything I need, but looks luxe and sleek.
So Lykkers, are you still avoiding backpacks because they feel too “student”? I totally get it. But trust me—styled right, they can be both comfy and super chic.
