Not to jinx it, but this past month has been the clearest my skin has looked in ages. If you've been following along, you probably know it's been a two-year rollercoaster with breakouts coming and going.
I've tried just about everything—from facials to a cabinet full of new skincare products—but nothing really gave me the progress I hoped for.
Brightening ingredients like niacinamide did help a bit with the dark spots, but there's only so much they can do. That's when I decided to give laser treatment a shot. It was my very first time, but now I'm pretty sure it won't be the last.
Here's how the session went: it started with a deep cleanse, followed by some "before" photos. After that, a numbing cream was applied and left on for about 20–30 minutes. Then came the actual laser part.
The treatment included three different types of lasers: a picosecond laser, an alexandrite laser, and my personal favorite, the anti-acne Nd:YAG laser. Some parts felt a little odd, but nothing was painful.
I left with a calming mask, a recovery cream, and detailed aftercare instructions: wear sunscreen daily, avoid active ingredients in your routine, and use sheet masks for a few days to help your skin recover.
The results? So worth it. I even had a spot coming up on my cheek, and by the next day, it had completely flattened. My skin now feels smoother and looks visibly brighter.
If you've been dealing with stubborn breakouts like me, this is definitely something to consider!
